The novel

Dansen i Firenze

Every photograph tells a story. Some stories simply became too long for a single image.

One summer night in Florence in 1984, fifteen-year-old Fredrik tastes his first cognac and sees a woman dance. One look. One smile. For nineteen years he builds his life around her. Then he meets Madeleine, who has dreamt the same dream, and who has a secret behind the curtain.

A novel about love as fantasy and love as action, about power in the Medici’s Florence and in an ordinary Norwegian home.
